About The Position

B2Gold is seeking a Mine Geologist, UG for their operations in Nunavut, Canada. This role reports to the Sr. Mine Geologist and operates on a 3x3 fly-in, fly-out rotation. The position involves detailed geological work to characterize the orebody, monitor ore grades, oversee blasts, manage drill programs, and ensure operational safety through hazard identification and risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Five (5) years’ experience as a geologist in a gold producing mine environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
• A Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo ) designation or ability to obtain same from NAPEG.
• Proficient in geological mapping and modeling software (e.g., Surfer, Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine, Gemcom Surpac).
• Ability to handle samples and geology equipment.
• Working rights in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed face sampling and mapping to characterize orebody geology and structure. Interpret geological data to delineate ore and waste boundaries accurately.
• Monitor ore grades at the face to ensure adherence to mining plans. Oversee ore versus waste delineation and stockpile management for optimal material handling.
• Monitor underground blasts to assess ore recovery and minimize dilution. Generate reconciliation reports to compare planned versus actual production outcomes.
• Oversee core collection, handling, sampling, and logging for geological and grade analysis. Manage diamond drill hole (DDH) programs, including progress tracking, drill targeting, and collar setup.
• Record and analyze geotechnical data to support safe mining operations. Maintain accurate geological databases.
• Coordinate assay sample submission, ensure adherence to sampling protocols and track assay results.
• Provide field interpretation of the orebody and contribute to geological model updates.
• Support the development of drill targets.
• Identify geological hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure operational safety.
