The Doe Run Company is seeking a Mine Engineer to support mine operations through engineering projects and initiatives. This position is located at the Brushy Creek Mine in Boss, MO, with potential for work location changes within Southeast Missouri. Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a mine or similar environment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Etc.).
  • Proficiency in Budgeting (Adaptive).
  • Proficiency in Drafting (AutoCAD).
  • Proficiency in Database management (Pi, MS SQP Server, Access, AcQuire).
  • Proficiency in HR Information System (UKG).
  • Proficiency in AS400 or similar mining database.
  • Proficiency in 3D Modeling (Vulcaan, Surfer, Leapfrog, ArcGIS).
  • Proficiency in PeopleSoft.
  • Ability to read and understand geological data.
  • Ability to manage small projects and meet financial, safety, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Complete engineering work and projects, including data gathering, project assistance and management, and evaluation of engineering projects for mining group operations.
  • Assist in creating and following development plans based on AutoCAD drawings.
  • Conduct safety meetings, audits, and drive-by observations in mines, ensuring safety equipment is in good working condition.
  • Track productivity through daily job notes and act as a supervisor in a production setting in a limited capacity.
  • May supervise utility crews, schedule jobs and crew movement, direct non-production staff, and coordinate daily work.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
  • Maintain EHS compliance by holding direct reports accountable, evaluating employee EHS performance, reporting and correcting unsafe conditions, and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
