About The Position

Turner Industries Group is looking for an experienced Millwright for a full-time maintenance position in Point Comfort, TX. This role involves installing and maintaining machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments. The successful candidate will be a current resident in or near the area, as no per diem or relocation is available.

Requirements

3 to 5 years experience
Must be able to pass drug screen
TWIC required
Must have valid driver's license
One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
Written pre-employment qualification test
Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place

Comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects
Picutring and evaluating solid objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked

Responsibilities

Installs and/or maintains machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.
Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Dismantles machines.
Moves machinery and equipment.
Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers.
Aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method.
Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
May repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
May be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.
