About The Position

Canfor is seeking a Millwright to help maintain and keep its modern sawmill in DeRidder, Louisiana, operating at peak performance. The role focuses on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical issues while supporting safe, reliable production. This is a permanent, full-time position with a rotational schedule that may include weekend work.

Requirements

• Superior troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair machinery components.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems on heavy manufacturing machinery.
• Ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to schedule and document maintenance activities.
• Ability to work effectively with maintenance professionals, operations, production staff, and supervisors.
• A high degree of urgency.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mill machinery, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in manufacturing.
• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance, including inspecting machinery and equipment to identify irregularities and malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, improve reliability, and implement safe, reliable repairs to maximize production uptime.
• Identify and request the parts needed to complete repairs in a timely manner.
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
