This position is currently open and reflects a replacement position due to an internal transfer, promotion, or departure.

Requirements

  • Requires a Mechanical Millwright 433A licence.
  • Excellent knowledge of Mechanical Systems, Power Transmissions systems, Hydraulics and Pneumatic systems.
  • Operation of precision machine shop equipment.
  • Knowledge of GMAW (MIG) Welding process.
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic drawings and schematics.
  • Familiar with the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Respond immediately to mechanical breakdowns, troubleshoot, decide on repair, fabricate or order parts, and ensure proper function on completion.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance by checking operator malfunction reports, prioritizing repairs, and completing PMs according to schedule.
  • Suggest improvements for machine operation and engineer equipment.
  • Assess the viability of ideas from the floor for production improvements.
  • Service gear boxes and drive systems, and air compressors.
  • Work with hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Perform machining, welding, and fabricating of parts.
  • Complete rebuilds on all equipment to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues.
