This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is located at the Lake Charles, LA facility. As a Millwright at Grace, you will directly contribute to help the team to exceed safety, quality and reliability goals by exhibiting technical expertise to inspect, service, troubleshoot and execute repairs to plant equipment.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work safe
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • NCCER Certification (Knowledge and Practical Assessment Cards)
  • 3 years of experience as a Millwright working in manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Skill Level Knowledge of SAP
  • Willingness to participate in training to obtain technical certifications as needed to fulfill job duties (mobile equipment operation, technical training, etc.)

  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator

Responsibilities

  • Replace pumps, motors, mechanical seals, oil seals, couplings, valves and bearings
  • Align and set clearances on pump impellers and rotary valve veins
  • Align rotating equipment using laser alignment tool
  • Align rotating equipment with dial indicators using Rim/Face and Reverse Alignment methodologies.
  • Replace sprockets, sheaves, and chains on power transmission equipment
  • Replace conveyor rollers and belts and align/track as needed
  • Set bearing clearances
  • Set gear mesh backlash
  • Operate manual lathe, vertical mill, hydraulic press and other shop equipment as needed
  • Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan and execute their work.
  • Document work in SAP to include time confirmations and work order completion
