About The Position
MGC Contractors, Inc. is a 100% Employee Owned Corporation specializing in water and wastewater general contracting across Arizona, Texas, Utah, and New Mexico. We are seeking a Millwright for our Utah Division in the Provo area. This role involves reviewing blueprints, laying out mechanical piping and equipment, monitoring safety and labor, understanding equipment installation and alignment, and knowledge of rigging, piping materials, and various lift operations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least Five (5) years of experience installing piping and equipment on multi-functional water/wastewater projects required
- Passing a pre-employment drug screen is required
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of crane rigging and signaling
- Knowledge of different types of process piping materials and connections, PVC, Steel, SST, and DIP
- Knowledge of forklift, scissor lift and boom lift operations
Responsibilities
- Review and comprehend blueprint drawings and specifications
- Lay out large and small diameter mechanical piping, and equipment such as Clarifier, Filters, Chemical Rooms, Aeration Basin System, Influent Fine Screens, and Pumps
- Monitor safety for all on-site personnel and subcontractors
- Assist the Project Superintendent in monitoring project labor
- Understand the process of equipment installation, alignment, and anchoring
- Utilize knowledge of crane rigging and signaling
- Demonstrate knowledge of different types of process piping materials and connections (PVC, Steel, SST, and DIP)
- Operate forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift
- Perform any and all other duties assigned
