About The Position

The Millwright will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, modifying, fabricating, and repairing mill equipment such as SAG mills, ball mills, conveyors, pumps, and piping systems. This role involves performing occasional welding and light fabrication, generating and checking work orders, and picking up parts and supplies. The Millwright will operate heavy equipment associated with mill operations and maintenance and must comply with all company policies and procedures, particularly regarding Safety, Human Resources, and Environmental standards. A key aspect of the role is adhering to MSHA rules and regulations, environmental rules, SOPs, and work area instructions, while actively participating in safety and environmental activities and risk assessments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
• Minimum one year experience in maintaining and repairing milling equipment, pumps, conveyors, and heavy construction equipment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, modify, fabricate and repair mill equipment such as SAG mill, ball mills, conveyors, pumps, and piping systems.
• Perform occasional welding and light fabrication.
• Generate work orders; check on the status of orders, and pick up parts and supplies from warehouse.
• Operate heavy equipment associated with mill operations and maintenance.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, especially with regard to Safety, Human Resources, and Environmental.
• Follow and understand MSHA rules and regulations, environmental rules and regulations, SOP and work area instructions.
• Participate in safety and environmental activities.
• Participate in Risk Assessment activities as required.
