About The Position

Canfor is hiring a Millwright at its Camden, South Carolina sawmill. The role supports the safe, reliable operation of a modern sawmill by maintaining and repairing industrial production machinery. This is a permanent, full-time position on 2nd shift with a rotational schedule that may include weekend work. The Millwright works with a high-performance team to maintain mill machinery and systems, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The role involves preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues to improve equipment reliability and production uptime. Requirements

Superior troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair machinery components.
Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems on heavy manufacturing machinery.
Ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to schedule and document maintenance activities.
Ability to work effectively with maintenance professionals, operations, production staff, and supervisors.
A high degree of urgency.

Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

Maintain mill machinery, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance.
Inspect machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
Troubleshoot issues, improve equipment reliability, and implement safe, reliable repairs to maximize production uptime.
Identify and request the parts needed to complete repairs in a timely manner.
Assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
