About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Millwrights for a project in Hampton, GA. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months. SIC is a company that performs installation, rigging, millwrighting, and maintenance for manufacturing and industrial markets across the Southeast.

Requirements

Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces.
Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
Must be able to standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions.

Responsibilities

Reads blueprint and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Dismantles machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
Moves machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
Constructs foundation for machines, using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement and steel.
Aligns machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
Unload, inspect and move equipment, using rigging, hoisting devices, chain falls and hydraulic-lift trucks or gantry overhead cranes.
Must understand the load properties of cables, ropes, hoists, cranes and know all hand/crane signals.
Fit bearings, align gears and wheels, attach motors, and connect belts, according to the manufacturer’s blueprints and drawings.
Experience with precision leveling and alignment in order to measure angles, material thickness, and small distances with calipers, squares, micrometers, and other tools.
Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment.
Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
Regular attendance is required.
Significant travel may be required.
Performs other duties as required.
Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
