About The Position

The Millwright plays a vital role in supporting production uptime by ensuring the optimal functioning of equipment and facilities. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting industrial machinery, while executing preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime. This position is based at our Abbotsford facility on Clearbrook Road, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday from 4:00 PM to 02:30 AM. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical expertise, advanced troubleshooting skills, and a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in an industrial environment, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright certification from an approved educational facility
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an industrial setting
  • 2–5 years of experience in a maintenance role
  • Strong oral communication and ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and multitask effectively
  • Attention to detail and organized approach to work
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems
  • Experience operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously
  • Flexibility to work late hours, overtime, and weekends when required
  • Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs
  • Proven safety and attendance record
  • Commitment to continuous personal and operational improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Strong mechanical and electrical experience is considered an asset
  • Previous experience with electrical systems and automatic guided vehicles is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, align, and secure machinery and mechanical components including conveyor systems, pumps, motors, presses, and hydraulic systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance to reduce machinery downtime
  • Inspect equipment for wear, defects, and proper operation
  • Repair or replace components as required
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and implement solutions
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubrication
  • Adjust and calibrate machinery to meet operational specifications
  • Work across mechanical, vacuum, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine performance
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Conduct safety checks and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Ensure tools and materials are properly managed after completing work
  • Maintain accurate records in CMMS, including closing work orders
  • Read and interpret technical documentation as needed
