About The Position

We operate in Chester, California; Lakeview, Oregon; and Kane, Pennsylvania, producing softwood and hardwood lumber. Our Chester location also includes the Builders Supply retail hardware and building materials store. The Millwright provides basic operation, maintenance, installation, and operational services for manufacturing systems and equipment.

Requirements

Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
Two years of previous experience or successful advancement through the Millwright Trainee program.
Possess proficient abilities in welding, cutting, fitting, lubrication, troubleshooting equipment and systems, and component maintenance.
Possess the basic tools related to the trade.
Strong mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

Comply with safety standards at all times and correct/report any observed safety hazards.
Troubleshoot, install, lubricate, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Fabricate parts and assemble machinery as needed.
Read blueprints, instruction manuals, and schematics.
Document work order progress using the company’s maintenance tracking system.
Clean and maintain working areas and equipment.
Perform startup and shutdown equipment inspections.
Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
If lead status is awarded, the individual will act as a functional expert and serve as a point of contact in the area of responsibility; assist the supervisor with daily reports and crew member assignments; provide breaks; and provide training. Additionally, based on the needs of the department/supervisor, leads may be required to maintain inventory levels and coordinate work with vendors and contractors.
