About The Position

Arauco is hiring a Millwright for its Grayling team. The role works a rotating shift schedule that switches between days and nights every two weeks. Shifts run from 6:45 to 6:45 on a 2-2-3 schedule. The Millwright responds to mill breakdowns, investigates equipment failures, and carries out maintenance and troubleshooting work. The position works closely with operators, maintenance colleagues, and supervisors to address issues, complete assigned work, and support safe and reliable mill operations. The work requires moving throughout an industrial facility and may involve stairs, ladders, machinery, heavy materials, dust, chemicals, high noise levels, and varying temperatures. Applicants must pass a post-offer drug screen, background check, and physical capability assessment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent industrial or commercial mechanical maintenance experience demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through formal millwright training.
Welding and fabrication experience.
Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance practices and lubrication principles.
Experience with precision maintenance activities, including shaft and bearing measurements, torqueing procedures, V-belt tensioning, and laser alignment.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Experience executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Ability to pass a post-offer drug screen, background check, and physical capability assessment.
Ability to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders and navigating around equipment and machinery.
Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as needed to inspect and maintain equipment.
Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds and perform tasks involving lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in environments that may have dust, chemicals, high noise levels, and varying temperatures.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience involving bearings, hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes, rotating equipment, equipment installation, and mechanical troubleshooting; strong preference is given to applicants with this experience.
Manual machining experience, including operating conventional lathes, mills, drill presses, and related shop equipment used to fabricate, modify, or repair machine components.
Completed mechanical apprenticeship, which qualifies candidates for additional compensation.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly and efficiently to mill breakdowns, working with area operators to resolve maintenance-related issues.
Make personal and coworker safety the primary consideration when performing work.
Investigate equipment failures to identify root causes and recommend long-term fixes.
Lead troubleshooting and properly document maintenance-related items using SAP Notifications.
Complete assigned work orders and preventive or predictive maintenance activities according to established priorities, and confirm completed work in a timely manner.
Remain aware of maintenance issues throughout the mill or assigned area.
Collaborate with operational partners, departmental peers, and direct supervisors.
