Requirements

Mechanically inclined with common hand tools (tape measure, etc.)
Basic math and geometry knowledge
Rigger 1 certified and qualified
Align equipment or machinery
Stick (Arc) welding
Forming & grouting machine bases
Ability to work effectively with all personality types
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
Self-directed and can work independently
Valid driver’s license

Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height.
Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment Utilize and understand the constraints of chains, synthetic, metal mesh, and wire rope slings.
Use & recognize rigging hardware including hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eye bolts, softeners and tag lines
Identifies common load configurations & positioning
Rigger 1 training – trains on above

Responsibilities

Transport and locate machines and equipment to the desired location according to floor plans, or as directed using forklifts, hoists, winches, cranes and other equipment.
Responsible for installing, assembling, and, when necessary, dismantling machinery, conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
Use micrometers and other precision measuring devices to achieve the extreme tolerances required
Follow instructions from foreman and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
Ability to lead an apprentice on smaller projects
Support and work in tandem with team members on various small/large projects
Read and understand design layouts and blueprints
Keep the job site clean and well-organized
Handle the loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment
Ensure attention to detail and follow safety standards
Fuel and wash department vehicles
