About The Position
The Millwright Helper assists an assigned crew by performing helper duties and supporting mechanics with assembly and work performance. The role includes basic rigging, threading and cutting pipe and other materials, material handling, operating a fork truck and pickup truck, using and caring for tools, and assisting with demolition, cleaning, debris removal, and building and ground maintenance. Additional responsibilities may be required.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the industrial construction or maintenance industry.
- Knowledge of fire protecting, different types of metals, bearings, mechanical seals, tandem seals, compression packing, multi-stage pumps, vertical pumps, different types of drive coupling, cooling tower fan units, gearboxes, and agitators.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic rigging, including use of come-alongs.
- Thread metal pipe and conduit.
- Cut pipe, conduit, metal, and wood.
- Handle materials.
- Drive a fork truck and pickup truck.
- Use basic tools and care for tools.
- Use hand, electric power, and pneumatic tools.
- Assist mechanics with assembly and work performance.
- Assist with demolition, cleaning, and debris removal.
- Perform building and ground maintenance.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required.
