About The Position

Under direct supervision, perform maintenance and repair services of facility and production equipment such as mechanical, electrical, and building systems.

Requirements

Minimum grade 12 or equivalent. Successful candidates must provide proof of Grade 12 (or GED) to Ministry of College and Trades.
Related work experience and/or training in a CNC machining environment would be considered an asset.
Computer fundamentals an asset; strong mathematical skills required.
Ability to work independently or within a team-based environment.
Must be able to demonstrate multi-tasking skills and deal with a rapidly changing work environment.
Must be well organized and able to work under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

Assist Journeyperson in completion of work assignments efficiently and effectively.
Perform outlined procedures for regular machine preventive/predictive maintenance program.
Conduct troubleshooting and repair activities for machine breakdowns as required, utilizing blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawing.
Assembly machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools, and welding equipment.
Participate in preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
Under supervision, assist with installation of new equipment, coordinated with outside services, as required.
Notify appropriate personnel of stock deficiencies and tool/material requirements.
Support and maintain the department lean initiatives as set out in the LPS system.
Participate in PHSR requirements.
Rotational shift and overtime work may be required.
