About The Position

Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for a Millwork Sales Trainee! This role involves learning the organization’s policies, products, and/or services in preparation for sales responsibilities in Millwork. The trainee will acquire knowledge of division and industry practices through on-the-job training in sales departments, including initiating sales, taking orders, order entry and quotes, and anticipating and meeting customer needs. They will also learn about product components, vendor selection, purchasing, pricing, inventory monitoring, and promoting assigned products. Additionally, the role involves contacting customers regarding market fluctuations and trends, filling customer orders, acquiring basic product knowledge, and developing knowledge of customer quality expectations. The trainee will need to apply and understand mathematical calculations and complete special projects as needed. A strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement is expected. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function.

Responsibilities

  • Learn organization’s policies, products, and / or services in preparation for sales responsibilities in Millwork.
  • Acquire knowledge of division and industry practices through on-the-job training in sales departments, including but not limited to: Initiating sales, taking orders, order entry and quotes, and anticipating and meeting customer needs; learn about product components, selection of product vendors, purchasing, pricing, monitoring inventory, and promoting assigned products; contacting customers regarding market fluctuations and trends; and filling customer orders, acquiring basic product knowledge, and developing knowledge of customer quality expectations.
  • Apply and understand mathematical calculations and concepts involving fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.
  • Complete special projects as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
