About The Position

Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for a Millwork Crew Leader. This role involves performing daily activities for a millwork facility, including distribution-related functions such as receiving, storing, and shipping/building of loads. The Crew Leader will operate a forklift, ensure load accuracy before vehicle departure, and perform customer service activities. Incumbents are expected to have broad knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations. This position may involve training, assigning, and overseeing the work of others, ensuring tasks are completed to specifications. Adaptability to warehouse routines, understanding and applying fundamental mathematical calculations, and managing raw materials and finished goods inventory are key. Maintaining a clean work area, following safety programs, and ensuring OSHA regulation compliance are also essential. The Crew Leader will assist in planning daily workflow and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma, GED or two (2) years equivalent work experience.
  • Must be able to understand and communicate safety and other work-related instructions.
  • Warehouse/yard operations environment with considerable physical exertion.
  • Performs duties in all weather conditions.
  • Possess alertness and ability to adapt to warehouse routines.
  • Understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

Nice To Haves

  • Typically more than five (5) years of experience in related job function.
  • Role may require technical certification or associates degree.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of building materials products, warehouse operations, and/or BMD products/operations.
  • Demonstrates accuracy in checking, posting, counting, addition, subtraction, fractions, and linear measurement.
  • Must exhibit good personal interaction and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities for a millwork facility.
  • Perform distribution-related functions (receiving, storing, and shipping/building of loads).
  • Operate forklift.
  • Ensure load matches order prior to vehicle exiting yard.
  • Perform customer service activities.
  • Train, assign and oversee work of others and ensure work is complete and built to order specifications.
  • Plan the daily workflow.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
  • Follow safety programs and ensure compliance of OSHA regulation.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
