About The Position

This position is responsible for operating CNC Mills on the 2nd shift. The Machinist III will load, unload, start, and stop machines, set feeds and speeds, monitor machine performance, and ensure work-pieces meet quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, basic math skills including trigonometry, and the ability to interpret blueprints.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic hand tools, including their uses and maintenance.
• Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
• Ability to control the operations of machining equipment and systems.
• Basic mathematics knowledge, particularly Trigonometry.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Blueprint Reading.
• Documentation and Modern’s Production System.
• Inspection Techniques for Machinists.
• SPC Charts and Tools.
• Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Adjusting Boring heads.

Nice To Haves

• 0-3 years of experience in relevant field preferred.
• 5S and Lean Manufacturing training.
• Crane/Hoist Operator Certification.

Responsibilities

• Loads, Unloads, Starts, and Stops Machines.
• Sets the feeds and speeds of machines during the machining process.
• Watches gauges, dials, and other key indicators to make sure machines are working properly and work-pieces meet quality standards.
• Monitors machines during operation in order to detect dull cutting tools and excessive vibration.
• Measures dimensions of finished work-pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Calculates and sets machine movements according to drawing specs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
