Night Shift Miller Apprentice/Shift Miller
About The Position
This is a nightshift position but will start on first shift for training . Duties Duties include but are not limited to: Monitoring the entire milling system to ensure that the process is running at optimum performance and the finished product produced meets all targeted specifications Measuring and recording the required parameters of the milling process Monitoring and recording metal detector, magnet and sifter tailing findings Complete assigned cleaning and maintenance activities Assist in the packing operation when necessary Responsibility to proactively offer facility and system improvements Actively participate in workplace safety and food safety training Responsibility to comply with all food safety and work place safety policies Responsibility to report any issues involving food safety and sanitation Responsibility to observe and report any unusual activity regarding site security Perform other duties as required The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job during a shift (hours and shifts may vary as needed). Ability to walk, climb, bend and reach overhead frequently Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work safely from a ladder frequently Must be able to lift 50 pounds on occasion General cleaning General maintenance and repair The work environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential function of this job.While performing the duties of this job, employees are exposed to: Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable; Noise level is moderate Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of the IAOM milling correspondence course
- Successful completion of the KSU milling short course
- Willingness to work all shifts and weekends when required
- Physically able to perform all milling requirements including but not limited to: Ability to walk stairs and climb up and down bulk trailers during the course of a nine hour shift General cleaning General mill maintenance and repair Ability to lift up to 50 lb. sacks
