About The Position
TA Services is seeking a Mill/Yard Operator to join their team. This role involves operating and maintaining heavy-duty forklifts and yard vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing inbound and outbound loads. The position is located at a mill which is part of Nucor Corp, a large scrap metal recycler. The work environment is primarily outdoors, and there are minimal advancement opportunities, with the next step being foreman.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience operating heavy-duty forklifts (Taylor lift) is required
- Knowledge of yard operations and equipment preferred
- Safety-conscious
- Detail-oriented
- Cooperative with supervisors and coworkers
- Able to handle physically demanding work

Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy-duty forklifts (Taylor lift), yard vehicles, and equipment.
- Comply with all Safe Job Instructions (SJIs), training requirements, and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Receive and inspect inbound loads, complete paperwork, and supervise unloading personnel.
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup, verify product integrity and counts, and ensure proper trailer/container loading.
- Maintain inventory controls, keep a clean and safe work environment, and report any hazards or issues to the supervisor.

- Accrue up to five days PTO in first year.
