About The Position

The Mill Superintendent at Archer Daniels Midland Company in Jackson, TN is responsible for developing and implementing programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to train and develop operational staff in milling operations. This role involves setting and maintaining company standards for Safety and Quality, while ensuring production and efficiency excellence. The Superintendent will manage the day-to-day operations of the Corn Mill to meet customer orders, utilizing personnel and equipment safely and efficiently to achieve maximum capacity, performance, optimum yields, and quality product. Additionally, the role includes planning, initiating, and implementing plant improvement projects within time and budget constraints, facilitating adherence to safety laws and regulations, coordinating and participating in audits, maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) records, and performing safety audits to set the standard for safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Milling Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of related work experience.
  • At least one (1) year of experience with/in: Milling production, and assisting with managing plant maintenance activities and plant operations.
  • At least one (1) year of experience with/in: Capital expenditure, equipment specification, budgeting, design, selection, installation, PI&D creation, and qualification.
  • At least one (1) year of experience with/in: Analyzing and presenting data using Pi Historian, Plant PAX, Excel, Power BI, or Ax Dynamics.
  • At least one (1) year of experience with/in: Performing continuous improvement and loss calculation with DMIAC, Zero Failure, Zero Loss, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Break Down Analysis (BDA) or preventative maintenance best practices.
  • At least one (1) year of experience with/in: Safety, quality and environmental compliance, and risk reduction principles such as Safety DMAIC, Why-Why, 5 Why, and 5S.

  • Maintain Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) records and documentation.
  • Perform safety audits and set the standard for safety.
