About The Position

This role involves operating mill equipment and managing associated processes while adhering to strict safety, health, and environmental standards. The position requires performing pre-shift inspections, operating various types of mill and material handling equipment, and handling chemicals. Troubleshooting equipment issues to assist maintenance personnel and maintaining a clean work area are also key duties. The role demands compliance with HSEQ standards, preparation of production and inspection reports, and adherence to company policies. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication, cooperation, productivity, initiative, creativity, and dependability.

Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent
One or more years in a milling environment utilizing grinding and float circuits
Current authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

Complying with all necessary requirements put in place to prevent incidents, injuries or losses
Ensuring the safety and health of themselves and others in the workplace by being responsible for their actions and taking due care while performing their work
Identifying, eliminating, and reporting hazards as soon as practicable
Reporting incidents and accidents as soon as practicable
Disclosing all information regarding incidents and cooperating in incident investigations
Assisting in the resolution of health and safety matters in a positive and timely manner
Using and maintaining PPE
Providing suggestions for improving work processes
Assisting Management by supporting change to achieve desired targets
Ensuring that plant and equipment operate within their safe working limits
Ensuring that correct equipment is used for the job
Participating in risk assessment methodology
Participating in safety initiatives
Receiving training and instruction as required
Maintaining good housekeeping standards
Performs pre-shift inspections and operates equipment including apron feeders, conveyors, SAG mills, ball mills, tower mills, gravity separation equipment, flotation equipment, thickeners and pressure filters, loaders, bulldozers, hydraulic rock breakers, bobcats, forklifts and overhead cranes
Handles reagent mixing and transferring of flotation reagents, flocculants, and other water treatment chemicals
Operates PLC-based control systems and PC-based supervisory control systems
Troubleshoots equipment to assist maintenance personnel and identify problems
Maintains a clean, hazard free work area
Conforms with HSEQ standards and practices
Prepares appropriate paperwork and reports relating to production activity, machinery and work area inspections
Other duties as assigned by management
