Requirements

Strong commitment to safety and a proven track record of leading safe work practices.
10+ years of supervisory leadership experience across multiple departments in the wood products industry.
Extensive knowledge of lumber manufacturing processes, equipment, products, and operational optimization.
Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement and operational performance.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
Collaborative leadership style with the ability to engage and develop teams.
Ability to work on-site and reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Elk Lake mill.

Mechanical and electrical knowledge is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Lead the overall success of the Elk Lake operation, with full accountability for safety, operational performance, and financial results.
Direct and optimize all mill operations, including sawmill, planer, shipping, and maintenance.
Champion a culture of safety, quality, efficiency, and cost excellence across the site.
Inspire, develop, and lead a high-performing team that delivers results while living Interfor's values.
Shape and execute the mill's strategic direction, driving continuous improvement and maximizing operational performance.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
Build strong relationships across the operation by fostering open communication, employee engagement, and a positive workplace culture.
Identify opportunities, solve challenges, and make decisions that drive the long-term success of the mill.
