About The Position

Ensures mill operation by inspecting machinery and performing maintenance/repair. This role involves visually inspecting electrical systems, batching equipment, boilers, and liquid tanks for proper functioning. The individual will utilize a computerized work order system for preventative maintenance, maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used, and manage parts inventory. The position also includes scheduling downtime for maintenance, covering for absent employees in various capacities (receiving, flaking, loader operation), participating in daily housekeeping, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, FDA, and EPA regulations, as well as safety rules and policies.

Requirements

• Understanding of electrical systems and boilers.
• Mechanical abilities.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers; ability to compute rate, ration, and percent.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspecting machinery (electrical, batching, boilers, liquid tanks) for proper functioning.
• Performing preventative maintenance using a computerized work order system.
• Maintaining maintenance records, documenting observations, work performed, and parts used.
• Managing parts inventory by communicating needs and organizing parts.
• Scheduling downtime or after-hours maintenance work and necessary contract work.
• Working in various capacities when another employee is absent or as necessary (e.g., receiving, flaking, loader operation).
• Participating in daily housekeeping, including cleaning and organizing millwork areas.
• Complying with applicable OSHA, FDA, and EPA regulations and maintaining compliance records.
• Complying with applicable safety rules and policies.
