About The Position

Riverhawk Company is a New Hartford–based manufacturer specializing in hydraulic tensioning systems, custom engineered tooling, and precision solutions for rotating equipment across industrial, energy, and emerging technology markets. Our success is driven by skilled people who take pride in quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement. We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist c apable of independent setup and machining of complex precision components to join our day-shift (Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm) manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating Doosan and Haas Vertical CNC milling machines to produce high mix, low volume precision components that meet exact specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of CNC milling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and GD&T
  • Ability to work independently to produce complex one-off precision components
  • Experience with tight tolerances and high-precision parts
  • Knowledge of Feeds & Speeds
  • Experience machining stainless steel, alloy steels, and other specialty materials
  • Familiarity with high-mix, low-volume manufacturing
  • Familiarity with ISO-style quality systems
  • Demonstrate excellent safety practices & housekeeping
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Willingness to work overtime as-needed during busy times
  • Ability to help provide on the job training and mentorship to less experienced machinists

Nice To Haves

  • Manual machining experience and/or grind experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce a variety of challenging setups, parts, prototypes, and custom engineered products.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
  • Make program edits and offsets as needed to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and company standards
