The Milk Tech is responsible for managing the receiving and labeling of mother's human milk and donor milk, as well as preparing individualized human milk feedings and infant/pediatric formulas. This role requires meticulous attention to detail in patient identification, bar code scanning, preparation according to recipes, sterilization, labeling, cooling, storage, and delivery. The Milk Tech will use advanced math skills for calculations of additives and fortifiers, verify orders for accuracy, manage product inventory, and utilize clinical information systems. They will also maintain the nutrition room, adhere to strict hygiene and aseptic techniques, track patient and product usage, and ensure proper disposal of unused/expired feedings. The position involves performing high-touch cleaning, audits, and disassembling/cleaning infant feeding equipment. The Milk Tech will maintain knowledge and skills through in-services and meetings, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and communicate effectively with various healthcare professionals regarding feeding orders and supply issues.
