About The Position

Rivet Operations Company, LLC, has an opening for a Senior Training Specialist to support the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), Space and Missile Defense (SDM) Center of Excellence (SMDCoE) also known as the US SMD School. SMD School (SMDS) core functions include: 1) Educate, train, and develop leaders for Space and Missile Defense operations; 2) Develop Army Doctrine for Space, High Altitude, and Global Missile Defense; 3) Develop individual and collective training tasks for Space and Missile Defense operations; 4) Train and educate the Army at large in Space and Missile Defense; and 5) Execute the US Army’s Quality Assurance Program to ensure standards are met in the education, training, and leadership development of Soldiers and Civilians. This position will provide support to the Functional Training Division (Space and Missile Defense) for the Space Control Planner Qualification Course (SCPQC). Requirements

  • 12+ years of space related military experience.
  • Understanding of Joint Space Mission Areas with an emphasis on SATCOM and/or Offensive Space Operations.
  • Experience applying Space Control planning principles to employ non-kinetic effects synchronized for a JFC into Army and Joint operations.
  • Experience utilizing Joint/Army planning processes, above Army Division-level, to integrate and synchronize non-kinetic effects with other joint functions during the Joint Planning Process (JPP).
  • Understanding of the effects of electromagnetic interference (EMI) on SATCOM and how to correlate this to potential sources causing EMI.
  • Experience with AOC/SOC processes and joint planning cycles.
  • Experience and understanding of joint/coalition military operations ranging from operational to strategic levels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to brief higher ranking officials.
  • Understand military planning processes (MDMP, JPP, etc.).
  • Ability to articulate space to non-space personnel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the ADDIE model.
  • Travel to conduct training as required.
  • Requires the applicant to possess and maintain an active security clearance for the position.
  • Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.

  • MOSQ: FA40, Space 200, ASCBC, Space Operations Course, Army Space Control Planners Course, Space Control Planner Qualification Course, Space Control Systems Operators Course, or other relevant space courses.
  • Joint or Army planning course graduate (Joint Advanced Warfighting School, Joint and Combined Warfighting School, Joint Transition Course, U.S. Army War College – Department of Military Strategy, Planning, and Operations, School of Advanced Military Studies, Command and General Staff School - Advanced Operations Course).
  • Previous instructor-facilitator experience; graduate of a military instructor training course (CFD-IC, ITC/SGITC, FIFC, ABIC, AFBIC, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise and knowledge of space capabilities and support to Army operations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and knowledge of Space Control planning and Space operations.
  • Conduct training to prepare Space Control Planners to utilize the targeting cycle to integrate and synchronize nonkinetic effects with other joint functions during the Joint Planning Process (JPP)
  • Conduct training to prepare Space Control Planners to apply space Control planning principles to employ non-kinetic effects synchronized for a Joint Force Commander into Army and Joint operations
  • Conduct training to prepare Space Control Planners to relate the effects of electromagnetic interference on SATCOM to potential sources.
  • Conduct space superiority training and education on conducting deployment planning, operational planning, and command and control operations; integrating mission operations within an Air Operations Center (AOC) and theater Space Operations Center (SOC); familiarization with joint / service Space Operations Centers supporting operations; and assessing effects, mission areas, and intelligence support to operations.
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain education and training in accordance with TR 350-70 series and Army accreditation standards.
  • Conduct research on new threats to current Army space-enabled capabilities, update existing training materials as necessary, and develop new training materials after analyzing the results of the research. Research shall include coordination with other SMDS training divisions to ensure training materials updated or developed are current, accurate, and aligned with Army School institutional training materials.
  • Travel to conduct training as required.
