About The Position
This is a fully remote freelance/contract consulting opportunity for an experienced Military Law Attorney to contribute specialised legal expertise to advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives. The work focuses on military justice, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), courts-martial, military regulations, and related federal and international legal frameworks. The attorney will analyse complex legal scenarios, research and interpret military case law, review legal materials, develop case studies and other content, and assess AI-generated legal responses for accuracy, reasoning, clarity, and professional relevance. Prior AI experience is not required. The role involves remote collaboration with project coordinators, technical teams, and other legal subject-matter professionals. Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to an employer, client, institution, or other third party. Requirements
- Active licence to practise law in at least one jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated professional expertise in military law.
- Significant experience in military justice, military legal advisory, or related legal practice areas.
- Strong command of the UCMJ, military regulations, and applicable legal procedures.
- Practical experience advising, consulting, or representing clients in courts-martial, military tribunals, or administrative proceedings.
- Thorough understanding of relevant federal statutes, military case law, and international legal principles affecting military justice.
- Ability to interpret complex legal provisions, judicial decisions, and procedural requirements.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, or evaluating specialised legal documents relating to military law.
- Strong legal research, analytical reasoning, issue-spotting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex military legal concepts clearly.
- Ability to synthesise extensive legal materials into concise, accurate, well-structured analyses.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to substantive legal accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a remote environment.
- Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party.
Nice To Haves
- Professional background in the Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps, military justice proceedings, or comparable military legal practice.

- Interpret military case law, judicial decisions, and applicable legal precedents.
- Examine interactions between military regulations, federal statutes, and international legal principles where relevant.
- Draft, review, edit, and critique materials addressing military law issues, legal standards, and procedural requirements.
- Develop realistic legal questions, case studies, and hypothetical scenarios involving military justice and regulatory obligations.
- Translate complex military legal concepts into clear, accurate research materials.
- Review legal documentation for substantive accuracy, clarity, completeness, and consistency with applicable legal frameworks.
- Contribute specialised legal knowledge to datasets and structured content addressing military procedures, codes, and case law.
- Review and validate AI-generated military law analyses, explanations, and responses; identify inaccuracies, incomplete reasoning, and areas needing greater precision.
- Provide written feedback to improve the accuracy, clarity, and professional relevance of specialised legal content.
- Identify knowledge gaps, ambiguous legal scenarios, and opportunities to improve AI understanding of military legal frameworks.
- Conduct structured legal research and synthesise substantial legal materials into clear analytical summaries.
- Communicate legal findings through detailed written explanations and professional discussions.
- Collaborate remotely with technical teams, project coordinators, and other subject-matter professionals.
- Support consistent quality standards, accurate legal interpretation, and continuous improvement of project deliverables.
