About The Position

Intelligence Federal is a respected government contractor seeking a Paralegal with military justice/court experience to support the Office of Military Commissions. This team of Paralegals provides critical legal research, litigation support, and court reporting services for high-profile military commission proceedings at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The role is crucial in every phase of the trial process, ensuring accurate documentation, organization, and management of sensitive case records, including classified materials. The Paralegal will work alongside attorneys, judges, and legal teams to maintain the integrity of complex legal proceedings in a secure federal environment. This is a fully onsite position in Alexandria, VA, with required travel to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for up to three (3) weeks at a time to assist with court proceedings. Requirements

Must be a US Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance. (If you currently have a Secret level clearance, we are open to sponsoring an upgraded clearance.)
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in a military and/or JAG environment.
Must be willing to travel for up to 3 weeks at a time to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Must be a fast typist and willing to do court reporting and transcription work.
Must exhibit a high level of discretion and personal decorum.
Ability to conduct factual and legal research.
Knowledge of Paralegal Methods, Practices, and Procedures.
Proficient in litigation discovery software and MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform substantive and procedural legal work to support attorneys and staff.
Assist attorneys and investigators in preparing for hearings, legal discussions, briefings, and meetings on various legal matters.
Conduct and assist in factual and legal research for each investigation.
Draft legal documents such as correspondence, complaints, and legal briefs.
Schedule interviews, hearings, witnesses, depositions, and other related discussions.
Investigate claims or potential cases.
Review facts and interview witnesses.
Perform court reporting and/or other paralegal support duties during trials.
Other paralegal duties as assigned.
