About The Position

Leidos is seeking licensed behavioral health professionals to join our Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) Child and Youth Behavioral team. This role will support a school assignment at Camp Pendleton, CA, specifically at Santa Margarita Elementary School. This is a 9-month position aligned with the school calendar, for the 2026-2027 academic year. The position offers a unique opportunity to support U.S. military service members and their families by providing non-medical counseling, consultation, and outreach to faculty, staff, parents, children, and youth. This counseling is preventive and solution-focused, addressing the unique emotional and environmental challenges faced by military children due to the stresses of military life.

Requirements

• A master’s degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).
• Licensure to practice at the independent practice level (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in the state where you provide services.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to pass a basic background check for employment, a Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance, commonly called a Public Trust clearance.

• Prior experience in a school environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work at school(s) populated by military youth and teens.
• Observe, participate, and engage in activities with youth and/or teens.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and support to staff and parents.
• Model behavior management techniques for staff and parents.
• Offer presentations on social skills development and social emotional learning.
• Promote creativity and positivity through approved materials.
• Build rapport with parents and families by attending installation and community events.
• Assist with transition adjustments, such as new schools and homes.
• Participate in regular in-service training or other contract activities as assigned.
• Communicate information regarding trends and issues at the assigned installation to Team Leads.
• Respond to emergent situations in any physical location on a military installation.
• Traverse long distances to both indoor and outdoor locations, maneuvering through rugged, outdoor, or uneven locations and working in outdoor weather.
• Travel to locations outside of a military base in a variety of physical environments.
• Comply with various site-specific requirements to work at designated locations.
