About The Position

Leidos is seeking licensed behavioral health professionals to join our Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) Child and Youth Behavioral team. This role will support a school assignment at Camp Pendleton, CA, specifically at Santa Margarita Elementary School. The position follows a 9-month school calendar and is for a future opening during the 2026-2027 academic year. The MFLC program supports U.S. military service members and their families by providing non-medical counseling, consultation, and outreach to faculty, staff, parents, children, and youth. This counseling is preventive and solution-focused, addressing challenges before they escalate. Military children face unique emotional and environmental challenges due to the stresses of military life, and this role offers an opportunity to provide support directly to them.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).
  • Licensure to practice at the independent practice level (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in the state where you provide services.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a basic background check for employment, a Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance, commonly called a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Work at school(s) populated by military youth and teens.
  • Observe, participate, and engage in activities with youth and/or teens.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to staff and parents.
  • Model behavior management techniques for staff and parents.
  • Offer presentations on social skills development and social emotional learning.
  • Promote creativity and positivity through approved materials.
  • Build rapport with parents and families by attending installation and community events.
  • Assist with transition adjustments, such as new schools and homes.
  • Participate in regular in-service training or other contract activities as assigned.
  • Communicate information regarding trends and issues at the assigned installation to Team Leads.
  • Respond to emergent situations in any physical location on a military installation.
  • Traverse long distances to both indoor and outdoor locations, maneuvering through rugged, outdoor, or uneven locations and working in outdoor weather.
  • Travel to locations outside of a military base in a variety of physical environments.
  • Comply with various site-specific requirements to work at designated locations.
