About The Position

Venesco LLC is seeking Military Family Licensed Counselors (MFLC) to support military members and families at/around Grand Forks AFB in Grand Forks, ND. This role provides non-medical counseling, coaching, training, and education to military service members and their families to help them navigate the complex stresses of military life. This includes issues such as deployment, frequent relocations, isolation, children coping with parental absence, child education, and spousal employment. The MFLC counselor is an independently licensed mental health professional who exercises discretion and independent judgment. Non-medical counseling is supportive and addresses living conditions, life skills, relationships, stress management, adjustment issues, marital problems, parenting, fear, grief, and loss. School counselors and Child Development Center Counselors may be assigned to DoDEA schools, military childcare centers, community schools, youth programs, summer camps, and on-demand assignments, requiring experience in a school setting for CYB positions. CYB counselors work closely with military branch Points of Contact (POCs) to ensure program delivery aligns with contract scope and installation needs. Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in the Behavioral Health Professions
  • Minimum 2 years of post-master’s supervised clinical experience
  • Mental Health Licensure at the Independent Practice level (Eligible license types include: LCSW/LICSW, LMFT, LPC, LCPC, and LMHC)
  • School Counselors must demonstrate past experience working in a school setting or other Child/Youth Services setting.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a NACI level government security clearance

  • Prior military service/military family member and/or strong familiarity with the military culture

Responsibilities

  • Provide a wide range of problem-solving skills to address areas such as deployment, frequent relocations, isolation from extended family members, children coping with the absence of a parent, child education, and spousal employment.
  • Provide non-medical counseling, coaching, training and education to military service members and their families.
  • Address living conditions, life skills, improving relationships at home and at work, stress management, adjustment issues, marital problems, parenting, fear, grief and loss.
  • Work closely with military branch Points of Contact (POCs) to assure that the program is provided within the scope of the contract and meets the needs of assigned installation (for CYB counselors).
