About The Position

Sacoma Specialty Products is looking for a skilled, hands-on MIG/TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. This position is ideal for an experienced welder who takes pride in producing high-quality work, can confidently read and work from blueprints, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. While this position performs both MIG and TIG welding, strong TIG welding skills are especially important for this role. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience producing clean, precise welds, working with a variety of materials and part configurations, and consistently meeting quality and dimensional requirements. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
2+ years previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to MIG & TIG weld – mild steel and 439 & 304 stainless steel
Must be able to adjust the welder in order to get a quality weld
Ability to read blueprints
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
Analytical and problem solving skills
Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
Attention to detail
Willingness and ability to work overtime

Nice To Haves

AWS Certification desired
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired

Responsibilities

Perform GMAW & GTAW of mild steel, stainless steel & Aluminum.
Ensure products meet quality standards regarding assembly specifications.
Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
Plan details of working procedures and tools and material requirements.
Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded.
MIG & TIG weld with no defects.
Fit and weld assemblies per job instructions and drawings.
Build up worn or defective surfaces.
Properly use fabrication shop hand tools (grinders, drills, air grinders, etc).
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Monitor supplies (gas, weld tips and grinding disks).
Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelines.
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MDSD Standards.
