About The Position

Sacoma Specialty Products is looking for a skilled, hands-on MIG/TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. This position is ideal for an experienced welder who takes pride in producing high-quality work, can confidently read and work from blueprints, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. While this position performs both MIG and TIG welding, strong TIG welding skills are especially important for this role. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience producing clean, precise welds, working with a variety of materials and part configurations, and consistently meeting quality and dimensional requirements. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to MIG & TIG weld – mild steel and 439 & 304 stainless steel
  • Must be able to adjust the welder in order to get a quality weld
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
  • Attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certification desired
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired

Responsibilities

  • Perform GMAW & GTAW of mild steel, stainless steel & Aluminum.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards regarding assembly specifications.
  • Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
  • Plan details of working procedures and tools and material requirements.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded.
  • MIG & TIG weld with no defects.
  • Fit and weld assemblies per job instructions and drawings.
  • Build up worn or defective surfaces.
  • Properly use fabrication shop hand tools (grinders, drills, air grinders, etc).
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Monitor supplies (gas, weld tips and grinding disks).
  • Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelines.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MDSD Standards.
