About The Position
Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN) is seeking a Midwife for their Midwifery Group Practice (MGP). This role offers the opportunity to provide true continuity of care within an all-risk MGP model, allowing for autonomous practice within a caseload model. The MGP is recognized for high professional satisfaction and strong clinical support, enabling midwives to work to the full scope of their practice while delivering woman-centred care. The role supports work-life balance through flexibility and support. The MGP services approximately 600 women and families annually across five sites: Clare, Crystal Brook, Jamestown, Port Pirie, and Wallaroo. These locations offer diverse lifestyles, from renowned wine regions and scenic landscapes to thriving agricultural hubs, historic towns, vibrant regional cities, and popular coastal areas.
Requirements
- Recent midwifery practice across the full maternity continuum.
- Strong clinical knowledge within woman-centred continuity models.
- Well-developed communication, leadership, and clinical escalation skills.
- Experience in quality improvement and risk management.
- Digital capability to support safe, effective patient care.
- Registration or eligibility for enrolment as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Undergo employment screening and meet immunisation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuity of care across the entire maternity journey, including antenatal care and clinics from 12-14 weeks.
- Provide intrapartum care.
- Provide postnatal care in hospital and at home.
- Participate in collaborative multidisciplinary clinics.
- Offer lactation support.
- Provide childbirth and parenting education.
- Support autonomous practice within a collaborative, progressive, and supportive multidisciplinary environment.
