About The Position

This manager is responsible for Illinois Non-Acute construction projects. The position is full-time, 1st shift, and involves managing construction projects up to $2M, prioritizing 6-10 projects simultaneously on a campus. The role requires assembling and organizing materials for requests and proposals, coordinating the contractor bid process, approving and paying invoices, managing contract costs, and maintaining project budgets. The project manager will coordinate with the project team, prioritize tasks, and provide updates. Responsibilities include overseeing contractors and tradesmen, coordinating local and state inspections, planning and coordinating project construction meetings, and reviewing design and construction drawings and specifications. Ensuring compliance with building codes, life safety, ADA codes, and AIA Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospital and Healthcare facilities is crucial. The role also involves conducting project-specific safety orientations and performing routine safety inspections of job sites.

Requirements

  • 7 years Construction/Project Management experience in healthcare field required.
  • Must be mobile within entire facility (ies).
  • Climb, lift, crawl, squat, and kneel to observe work and conditions.
  • Lifting less than 50 pounds required occasionally.
  • Ability to sense vibrations and smells, sensitivity to heat and cold.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages Project Construction up to $2M and prioritizes 6 - 10 construction projects on a campus simultaneously.
  • Assembles and organizes materials for requests and proposals.
  • Coordinates contractor bid process and project buyout, approval and payment of invoices, contract costs and maintain project budget.
  • Coordinates with the project team and prioritizes tasks with multiple team members on multiple projects and updates on eCATS.
  • Oversees all contractors and tradesmen and coordinates local and state inspections.
  • Plans and coordinates routine project construction meetings.
  • Reviews design and construction drawing and specifications, confirms building codes and permit requirements.
  • Ensures and enforces compliance on all projects through an understanding of building, life safety and ADA codes as well as the AIA Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospital and Healthcare facilities.
  • Conducts project specific safety orientation and performs routine safety inspection of job sites.
