About The Position

The Midstream Operator is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of assigned midstream facilities and pipelines, including all associated processing equipment. This position is moderately supervised and requires learning to determine optimal operations of assigned locations and equipment, while balancing additional work at all midstream locations/systems as required. The role involves diagnosing well problems to ensure production optimization, operating various production facility equipment, performing maintenance and repairs, and maintaining accurate records. The operator must also ensure compliance with regulatory standards and conduct business with the highest ethical standards, prioritizing safety.

Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of a production facility.
  • Ability to bring on a well / facility with limited supervision.
  • Physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations, open and close valves and carry tools / equipment necessary to complete job duties.
  • Maintain valid motor vehicle record and license.
  • Ability to climb up to 30 feet in height.
  • Basic level of skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Basic knowledge of SCADA Lynx (create user profiles and set up alarms).
  • Basic knowledge of Drilling: Well View, AFE Navigator.
  • Basic knowledge of Completions: Well View.
  • Basic knowledge of Facilities: Oceaneering ACET, eMaint CMMS; SCADA.
  • Technical skills that allow easy adaptation to other related applications (AVM).
  • Minimum 2+ years of work experience required.
  • Ability to operate production facility equipment including but not limited to: separators, back pressure regulators, pumping units, treaters, pressure regulators, liquid level controllers, PSV’s, ESD’s, motor valves and gas compressors.
  • Ability to repair dump valves and chokes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of wells on route with the ability to walk through starting up a well and facility and ensuring all valves and equipment are set correctly.
  • Demonstrates general well head knowledge and proper valve operation.
  • Maintain proper fluid levels and pressure on vessels.
  • Ability to trouble shoot issues with downhole and surface equipment.
  • Developing knowledge on gathering systems and how to keep all systems balanced while keeping NOMs in acceptable ranges.
  • Follow SOPs of each task we complete.
  • Participate in monthly Safety Meetings and maintain Near Miss Reporting, JSA paperwork, Stop Work Authority, and LOTO.
  • Work in all weather conditions including rain, snow, mud, etc. – work is performed in hazardous driving and working conditions all season of the year.

Nice To Haves

  • Oil and gas industry experience a plus.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose well problems with a focus on ensuring production optimization.
  • Operate production facility equipment including separators, back pressure regulators, pumping units, treaters, pressure regulators, liquid level controllers, PSV’s, ESD’s, motor valves and gas compressors.
  • Repair dump valves and chokes.
  • Recognize when chemicals are necessary to optimize fluid separation and production.
  • Recognize when a well is liquid loading.
  • Identify liquid loading, potential artificial lift issues, etc.
  • Complete testing of all safety devices to ensure equipment is functional within accepted standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed into the company CMMS.
  • Daily operation and maintenance of assigned midstream facilities and pipelines, including all associated processing equipment.
  • Determine optimal operations of assigned locations and equipment.
  • Operate basic equipment, including but not limited to Treater, Separator, Dump Valves, Pumping Units, Back Pressure Regulators.
  • Walk through starting up a well and facility and ensuring all valves and equipment are set correctly.
  • Measure and record production accurately and timely on a daily basis.
  • Identify well performance problems and communicate to senior team member.
  • Maintain proper fluid levels and pressure on vessels.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings.
  • Respond promptly to emergency and call out situations as required by work schedule.
  • Perform maintenance, repairs and inspection on production equipment as needed.
  • Trouble shoot issues with downhole and surface equipment.
  • Conduct business with the highest ethical standards; demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all persons associated with SM facilities.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with CDPHE, EPA, COGCC, PHMSA, DOT and Company requirements.
  • Perform maintenance/repairs on process equipment and pipelines.
  • Analyze equipment or pipeline performance, data, and carry out tests to pinpoint problems or implement solutions.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and regulator inspections.
  • Maintain product quality to keep selling with minimal downtime.
  • Data entry of production numbers, from tank gauges to meter readings, while verifying the numbers are correct with no deficiencies.
  • Operate a company vehicle safely, adhere to all driving laws and company vehicle use policies.
  • Provide all necessary departments with ongoing and accurate operational updates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
