The Midstream Operator is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of midstream assets, including pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, gathering systems, meters, valves, and related equipment. This role monitors system performance, performs routine inspections, supports maintenance activities, responds to operational issues, and ensures compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in oil and gas operations, midstream operations, pipeline operations, or related industrial field preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of pumps, compressors, valves, meters, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret operating procedures, gauges, meters, and basic process information.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and respond to after-hours callouts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with natural gas gathering, compression, produced water, crude oil, or NGL systems.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and electronic work management systems.
  • Familiarity with pipeline safety, DOT/PHMSA, environmental, and company compliance requirements.
  • Experience performing basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance on field equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor midstream facilities, including pipeline systems, compression, dehydration, measurement, and related equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections, equipment checks, and operational rounds to identify leaks, abnormal conditions, or equipment issues.
  • Monitor pressures, flows, temperatures, tank levels, and other operating parameters.
  • Start up, shut down, and adjust equipment in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Respond to alarms, callouts, and emergency situations in a safe and timely manner.
  • Support pipeline pigging, meter proving, line locating, valve maintenance, and facility troubleshooting activities.
  • Document daily activities, readings, maintenance needs, and operational events accurately.
  • Coordinate with control room personnel, maintenance teams, contractors, and other operations staff.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, and job safety analysis procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at assigned facilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and safety of operations.
