The Midstream / Facilities Engineer is responsible for the design, optimization, and operational support of water, oil, and gas gathering and disposal systems across both the Midland and Delaware Basins. This role integrates engineering, operations, commercial coordination, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective system performance. The position plays a key role in project development, system modeling, SWD performance management, and cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and third-party partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study (Engineering or Science)
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in the Oil & Gas Production Facilities or Chemical Process Industry
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in Oil & Gas Midstream or Upstream engineering and operations
  • Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE), American Petroleum Institute (API), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), or related certifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydraulic modeling and system analysis for water, oil, and gas pipelines using AFT Arrow, AFT Fathom, and ProMax.
  • Design and size pipeline systems, pump skids, and related infrastructure based on production forecasts.
  • Support pipeline operations through pressure profile analysis and flow assurance evaluations.
  • Assist in pigging operations for both low- and high-pressure pipeline systems.
  • Develop acid job designs for both pipeline and downhole applications and create operating procedures for field personnel.
  • Monitor and track SWD performance to ensure optimal operation and identify potential issues and or acid job potential.
  • Develop and document SWD workover procedures for both shallow and deep wells.
  • Support facility readiness and takeaway capacity across water, oil, and gas systems.
  • Oversee and contribute to facility programming logic, including pumps, valves, and automation systems.
  • Aid midstream field personnel in troubleshooting when issues arise and provide technical and field support when necessary.
  • Attend and help drive trainings regarding field equipment and technical operations.
  • Develop AFE’s and detailed cost estimates for capital projects (pipeline buildouts, SWD workovers, facility upgrades, etc).
  • Track capital project costs and ensure accurate monthly accruals.
  • Monitor project performance and ensure alignment with budget and forecast expectations.
  • Support development and maintenance of capital (CAPEX) and operating (OPEX/LOE) budgets.
  • Manage cost centers and coding for invoices across CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices.
  • Assist in maintaining budget accountability and financial reporting.
  • Work closely with the commercial team to evaluate new business opportunities, expansions, and third-party agreements
  • Coordinate with facilities, operations, and midstream teams to ensure system readiness and alignment
  • Lead and participate in meetings with third-party takeaway companies to ensure efficient flow across all phases (oil, gas, water)
  • Manage and execute regulatory requirements including H-5 testing for SWDs
  • Support pipeline regulatory compliance, including T-4 filings and PHMSA-related activities
  • Assist with pipeline reroutes, system updates, and regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure systems are operating within all applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Maintain and update pipeline mapping systems in coordination with GIS teams.
  • Ensure accuracy of system data, routing, and asset tracking.
  • Support operational decision-making through data analysis and system modeling.
