About The Position

Patagonia Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as a Middle School Volleyball Coach. This seasonal position involves guiding and mentoring young athletes in developing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and inclusive environment while promoting physical fitness and a love for the game.

Requirements

Previous coaching experience, particularly in volleyball, at the middle school or high school level is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, strategies, and rules.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive team environment.
First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained within the first month of employment.
Commitment to the overall development of student-athletes, both on and off the court.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for practices and games as needed.
Background check clearance as required by school district policies.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive volleyball program for middle school students, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Plan and conduct daily practices that emphasize fundamental techniques, game strategies, and physical conditioning.
Organize and manage the middle school volleyball team’s schedule, including practices.
Provide instruction and feedback to athletes to enhance their performance and understanding of the game.
Foster a positive team culture that encourages respect, inclusivity, and personal growth among all players.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, schedules, and player progress.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices and competitions.
Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote a cohesive athletic program within the school.
Monitor and evaluate athletes’ progress and provide guidance for improvement.
Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and ready for use.
