About The Position

The Middle School Teacher is responsible for delivering instruction to students in grades 6–8 in a specific subject area. This role involves planning and implementing lessons, assessing student progress, and creating a supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the subject area or related field.
  • Valid South Carolina teaching certification.
  • Knowledge of middle school education best practices.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging, grade-appropriate lesson plans in a specific subject area (e.g., Math, Science, Language Arts).
  • Conduct regular formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Maintain accurate student records for grades, attendance, and performance.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
  • Create a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment.
  • Participate in school committees, activities, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Uphold school policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
