The Middle School Teacher will help students acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will contribute to their educational and social development. This role involves planning and implementing an instructional program compatible with the subject, grade level, established curriculum, and the needs of middle school students. The teacher will assess the effectiveness of their instructional program, maintain adequate knowledge of subject areas and child growth and development, and ensure that instruction and materials are appropriate for the students. The position also requires encouraging student, parent, and community involvement, assessing individual student abilities to accommodate learning differences, monitoring student achievement, employing various teaching methods, and providing remediation. Professional classroom management techniques are essential, as is showing respect for students, valuing cultural differences, and maintaining parent communication. The teacher will also accept non-instructional duties as assigned and comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
