About The Position

This 1.0 FTE position will focus on progress monitoring of students who are placed in intervention classes. The effective date of employment is the beginning of the 2026-27 school year. The role involves assessing student needs, constructing strategies for academic success, maintaining communication with parents, and implementing appropriate academic intervention strategies. Collaboration with staff, the student support team, and attendance at Learning Team meetings are key aspects of the role. The teacher will engage students with suitable classroom management techniques, keep records of lesson plans and student performance, and facilitate learning aligned with the curriculum of Independent School District 196. Responsibilities also include carrying out duties as defined by the master contract and the principal, and maintaining good communication and cooperation with staff and parents. Additional duties involve providing educational interventions and progress monitoring, using scientific, research-based interventions focused on individual student difficulties, implementing the MTSS model, and maintaining data-based documentation of student progress.

Requirements

  • Licensed by the state of Minnesota to teach middle school.
  • Strong general academic background.
  • Ability to relate positively to students, staff, and community.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with student support team (teachers, counselors, administration) to design individualized/accommodated programming for success.

  • Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress during interventions.
