About The Position

The Upper Darby School District is seeking applicants for a long-term substitute middle school ELA Teacher at Drexel Hill Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The job goal is to participate, as a member of the instructional staff, in directing the learning of middle school students. Such participation shall be directed toward attainment of general and specific objectives of the curricula of the school, and of the school district.

Requirements

• PA Instructional Certificate: English (Middle School English 4-8 or English 7-12)
• BA required in appropriate major study
• Knowledge of content in area of certification
• Classroom/group management skills
• Ability to use instructional materials and equipment
• Knowledge of child growth and development
• Instructional skills
• Planning Skills
• Human Relations Skills
• Ability to organize a classroom
• Strong communication and motivational skills
