About The Position

The Middle School Student Minister will build a community that seeks to glorify God by leading this generation of students to both discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ and make disciple-making disciples through relevant and engaging ministry environments and relationships. This role provides leadership and oversight for one of the largest student segments at The Church of Eleven22®, engaging over 350 middle school students weekly through discipleship, teaching and relational ministry. The position involves overseeing and teaching Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings, assisting in the development of the Eleven22 Student Ministry strategy, and contributing to the teaching team. The minister will also engage students weekly, implement Eleven22 Students next step plans, and care for the middle school serve staff. This includes recruiting, discipling, and leading coaches and serve staff, as well as implementing training to equip them. Additionally, the role focuses on student connections and next steps, including first-time guest follow-up, developing students to reach their schools through attending school events, and following up with students who make 'next step' decisions. A key responsibility is launching and facilitating a middle school student leadership program and implementing a plan to engage new students. The minister will also minister to students, families, and adults at the campus location, partner with middle school parents for discipleship, and assist the Central team in planning and implementing big events. The role may also involve leading Residents, Summer Interns, and/or other staff. Key environments include Wednesday nights, Sunday mornings, big events, camps, mission trips, student team meetings, and local schools.

  • Effective teaching and facilitation skills, especially in youth ministry environments.

  • Proven ability to recruit, disciple and empower volunteers and student leaders.
  • Capable of organizing weekly gatherings, school outreach and large-scale events.
  • Skilled in tracking and responding to spiritual decisions and guest engagement.
  • Willingness to be present in schools and local events to build relationships.
  • Works well across campus and Central teams to implement shared ministry goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience working with students preferred.
  • Multisite student ministry experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for middle school students, engaging over 350 students weekly through discipleship, teaching and relational ministry.
  • Oversee/run/teach Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.
  • Assist in the development of the Eleven22 Student Ministry strategy at the assigned campus.
  • Contribute to the teaching team monthly.
  • Engage students on a weekly basis.
  • Implement Eleven22 Students next step plans.
  • Care for middle school serve staff at the assigned campus.
  • Consistently communicate with serve staff.
  • Recruit, disciple and lead a healthy team of coaches to help care and train a team of serve staff under them.
  • Recruit serve staff and team leads as needed for middle school.
  • Implement and create training to equip serve staff.
  • Engage serve staff weekly.
  • Manage first-time guest follow-up; sending letters, giving out first-time guest gift, collecting info, etc.
  • Develop students to reach their schools by attending school lunches, sports games and other events.
  • Follow up with students who make ‘next step’ decisions to include salvation, baptism, serving interest, student leadership, care and prayer needs.
  • Launch, lead and facilitate a middle school student leadership program at the assigned campus.
  • Implement a plan to engage new students, invest and invite.
  • Minister to students, families and adults at the campus location to be active in care, response and campus needs.
  • Partner with middle school parents for discipleship at the assigned campus.
  • Assist Central team in planning, ideation and implementation of big events for Eleven22 Students and for The Church of Eleven22 as needed.
  • Lead Residents, Summer Interns and/or other staff when needed.

  • The church has several big events (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.
