KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools (KPPS) is seeking a Middle School SPED Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. KPPS is part of the KIPP Public Schools network, a national network of tuition-free public charter schools. KPPS is committed to creating joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students for college, career, and beyond. The role involves ensuring all students feel affirmed, valued, and challenged, creating rigorous lesson plans, infusing core values into daily lessons, maintaining a productive learning environment, analyzing student work, providing accommodations, maintaining records, and serving as a role model. Special education responsibilities include developing and monitoring special education programs, maintaining IEPs and other student support documents, leading Child Find efforts, liaising with parents, and providing case management and instruction for students receiving special education supports. Professional responsibilities include taking ownership of craft development, engaging in professional development, collaborating with grade teams, sharing feedback, embodying KPPS core values, and enrolling in/completing a teacher certification program if applicable. School responsibilities include attending school functions, contributing to school events, developing relationships with families, performing support duties, and chaperoning field trips. Additional responsibilities may arise during the school year.
