About The Position

Achievers Early College Prep Charter School (AECP) is seeking a dedicated Middle School Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. AECP is New Jersey’s first public charter school offering students in middle and high school the opportunity to pursue STEAM pathways, earn college credits, and gain workplace training. The school is committed to ensuring students graduate with the skills and knowledge essential for success in the marketplace and beyond. The ideal candidate will be committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration and possess expertise in Special Education content knowledge, SPED interventions, and accommodations. This role involves designing and implementing curriculum and assessments, using data to inform instruction, and providing consistent behavioral management. The teacher will be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards and will work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Expert in content knowledge in Special Education
  • Extensive knowledge of SPED interventions and accommodations
  • Experience/comfort with online applications to enhance learning
  • Familiarity with Google Classroom and virtual meeting platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Teaching experience in an upper elementary, middle, or high school with an underserved population
  • Adept interpersonal and communication skills to diverse audiences
  • Valid NJ Teacher Certification completed or in progress

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is preferred
