About The Position

Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Middle School Spanish Teacher. This is a full-time contract position. The successful candidate can expect to teach Spanish 1 to grade 8 and intro to Spanish to grade 7 (every other day). The average class size is 22. Curriculum plan, benchmark exams, and vocab lists are provided. Access and support with teaching with technology are available. RACS offers a great building culture and supportive leaders. RACS is a public charter school, primarily serving students from the city of Rochester, with over 90% of students identifying as an individual of color. We are a college preparatory school and use data to determine how best to foster student growth. RACS seeks to prepare all graduates for active citizenship. We are seeking teachers who are self-directed, committed, and independent. RACS teachers are team players who work collaboratively, including when planning curriculum. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Education and/or have completed a teacher certification program
• New York State certification (candidates with out-of-state certification will be considered)
• Spanish speaking candidates are encouraged to apply
• Self-directed, committed, and independent
• Team players who work collaboratively
• Know or be ready to learn responsive lesson planning practices
