About The Position

Durham Academy (DA) is seeking a Middle School Spanish Teacher to join the World Languages Department. This is a one-year posting for the 2026-2027 school year with the potential for renewal. The role involves teaching four sections of Spanish to 7th and 8th graders and serving as an advisor to a group of up to 12 students. The department utilizes the ACTFL framework for instruction. Preference will be given to candidates familiar with ACTFL and competency-based feedback systems, though a willingness to learn and incorporate these approaches is essential. The ideal candidate is an experienced, student-centered educator with a flexible, innovative approach, deep content knowledge, and a passion for fostering student self-awareness and confidence. They should be eager to collaborate, create an equitable and inclusive learning environment, commit to professional growth, and use technology effectively.
