Requirements

  • BA/BS or higher degree with a major in one or more of the following areas: Curriculum, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, MIDLVL-Multi-Subject, Content Area (Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, Economics, Geography, Biology, Physics, Reading, Early Childhood Education, or similar).
  • Valid Oregon Teaching License and endorsement(s) from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in the State of Oregon.
  • Displays a willingness to teach any qualified subject area.
  • Must meet Highly Qualified Requirements with endorsed areas of assignment.
  • Skills to motivate students.
  • Skills to communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds.
  • Skills to direct support personnel.
  • Skills to evaluate performance.
  • Knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods.
  • Knowledge of state curriculum framework.
  • Knowledge of education code.
  • Knowledge of appropriate instructional subjects.
  • Satisfactory results of drug screening tests.
  • Satisfactory results of criminal history verification (background check).

  • Developing students’ academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study.
  • Implementing District approved curriculum.
  • Documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes.
  • Addressing specific educational needs of students.
  • Providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
  • Providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.

Benefits

  • Salary: $46,665-$93,402 (non-PERS)
  • Salary: $49,643-$99,362 (PERS)
